项目摘要

本年度は,昨年度までに行った作業を踏まえ,論点を明確化しつつ史料収集を進めるとともに,史料分析,論点整理を進めた。寺社奉行関係史料や宗教「法令」に関する調査のため,龍野歴史文化資料館の脇坂氏関係史料,京都府歴史資料館の淀藩士関係史料,国立公文書館の紅葉山文庫などの史料を実見・収集するとともに,活字史料,影印史料類を博捜した。また,地域における宗教組織構造などに即して当該問題を考察するため,安城市本證寺史料など,寺院史料に関する調査を行った。研究成果として,不受不施派や内証題目講といった,幕府による宗教の禁制と,教団の組織化,在地の動向の三者の関係につき考察を深化させ,その一端を千葉県史料研究財団編『千葉県の歴史』の分担執筆において反映させた。なお,一般向けの記述ではあるが,幕府宗教政策の概説として,「江戸幕府による寺社の掌握体制」(『仏教新発見』29号,2008年1月,朝日新聞社)を執筆した。また,一昨年度来,加賀藩における寺檀関係政策の検討を中心に,幕藩権力における寺檀関係政策全体への考察へとつながる分析を行っているが,これについては2008年度中に公表できる見込みである。さらに,宗教をめぐる観念の変容と,宗教政策の展開との関係を中心として,上記史料の調査結果をもとに考察の深化,成稿を急ぎたい。
