本研究の目的は、小中学生を対象とした妬み感情マネジメント・プログラムを開発し、その適用を通じて、感情のコントロール不足がその一因となっている様々な問題行動の改善を目指すことである。当該年度は、問題行動のメカニズムに焦点を当てた調査を通じて、妬み感情のマネジメントに資する知見を得た。内容は、大きくパーソナリティ(攻撃性)、対処方略の選択(対処の柔軟性)、学校生活における経験(学校生活満足度・いじめ観衆経験)の3つの観点についてそれぞれ調査を行った。まず、小学生100名を対象とした調査では、目にみえる攻撃行動を行いやすいと回答した児童は、外的帰属によって敵意的な妬み感情を経験しやすく、その対処の選択に固執する傾向にあることがわかった。その一方で、関係性行動のような目に見えにくい攻撃性の高い児童は、内的で安定した次元に帰属しやすいと妬みを感じるものの、十分な対処が選択できてない傾向にあった。続いて、中学生428名を対象とした調査では、学校への適応・不適応の指標として、学校生活満足度を利用して、中学生を4群に分けて分析した。その結果、学校生活満足度が高い生徒は、妬み感情をさまざまな対処によって柔軟に処理できる傾向にあるのに対し、満足度が低い生徒は破壊的な対処しか選べないことが示された。また、別の中学生334名を対象とした調査を通じて、妬みとシャーデンフロイデの感じやすさと、いじめに観衆として参加した経験の関連性が示唆された。以上の研究によって,小中学生における妬み感情と問題行動の関連性を示す実証データが揃ったことは大きな成果と判断できる。
