项目摘要

本研究では、保育園や幼稚園などの保育現揚における子どもたちの発達過程を、その「場」を構成するさまざまな構成要素(その「場」に関与する多様な人々や物、その他空間的条件等)を含んだ活動システム全体の変化に着目しつつ分析していくことによって、その発達を支えている「場」の構造を明らかにし、子どもたちの主体的な育ちを生み出す可能性が埋め込まれた「場」の在りようや保育の営みについて考察することを目的とした。最終年度に当たる本年度は、これまでの幼稚園における長期的フィールドワークを通して得た資料を基に、子どもたちの活動の展開やかかわりの広がりを助ける「場」の構造を、「活動媒体」の持つ特性に着目しつつ、さらなる分析を行った。そこでは、昨年度までに明らかになってきた活動媒体となる「資源」の持っている読み替え可能性の他にも、それぞれの子どもたちの「読み替えJや、その発信を支える「共感的他者」の存在や、さらにその他者を支える共同体のもつ「対話的関係」が不可欠であることが見出された。また、そうした「他者」の共感的かかわりや「対話」が活性化されていくためには、「場」そのものが限定されたり単層化することなく、多様な「場」が交差し合う、多くの出会いや視点に開かれた重層的な「場」としてデザインされていく必要性についても示唆された。
