项目摘要

科学者の社会的責任の内実は時代とともに変容してきた。現代の責任論は、原爆を作った物理学者の責任論にとどまらず、生命科学、食品安全にかかわる諸科学、環境科学など範囲も多様化している。本研究では、まず専門主義の源泉について考え、次に現在科学と社会との間でおこっている公共的課題の特徴を整理した。さらに、責任概念と倫理との差を検討した。責任(responsibility)とは、他者と対峙したときのresponseとして生じ、応答(response)の能力・可能性(ability)に由来する。責任を「過去におこしてしまったものに対して生じるもの」ととらえる見方だけでなく、「応答可能性」「呼応可能性」といった形で解釈する必要がある。これに対応して、科学者の社会的責任論も、過去に科学技術が作ってしまったものに対して生じるものだけでなく、市民からの問いかけへの応答可能性として定義されうるものへの考察も必要である。これらをふまえた上で再整理すると、現代の科学者の社会的責任は、(1)科学者共同体内部を律する責任、(2)製造物責任、(3)市民からの問いへの呼応責任の3つに大きく分けられることが示唆された。

The responsibility of scientists to society is not to be ignored. Modern responsibility theory, atomic explosion theory, physicist responsibility theory, life science, food safety theory, environmental science theory, etc. This study is aimed at sorting out the characteristics of the common issues between science and society. The concept of responsibility and ethics are discussed. responsibility, response, ability, etc. Responsibility: "Past events","answer possibilities","call possibilities","form solutions","necessity solutions". This paper discusses the responsibility of scientists and society, and the necessity of investigating the past scientific and technological cooperation, the possibility of answering questions, and the definition of problems. The responsibility of modern scientists to society is (1) the responsibility of scientists and scholars within the community of laws,(2) the responsibility of products,(3) the responsibility of citizens to ask questions and call for answers, and (3) the responsibility of the public to ask questions.
