The aim of this study is to clarify the influence of the Korean language policy and education of the Japanese Government-General of Chosen (朝鮮) on the formation of modern Korean focused on the spelling system of Korean using corpus analysis.(1) From the empirical analysis of the Korean corpus during the period between the 1890s to the 1940s, the process of the establishment of the spelling system of the Korean language is clarified.(2) Investigation of the influence of the spelling rules of the Japanese Government-General of Chosen in 1912 on the spelling system of the Korean language is also conducted.
