项目摘要

本課題研究では、野蚕と家蚕の双方を含めたマダガスカルのシルク生産を文化的・社会的・経済学的観点から総合的にとらえるために現地フィールドワークを軸とした実証的な研究をすすめた。当該研究期間中に得られた成果は、大きく以下の5項目にまとめられる。(1)マダガスカルの野蚕種とその分布、家蚕種の種類とインド・中国・日本種との交配関係を明らかにした。(2)マダガスカルの伝統的シルク生産の歴史、とくにメリナ王権下の地域分業によるシルク生産システムの確立とシルク産業振興政策、フランス植民地統治下における森林保全を伴う野蚕管理システムについての文献資料を収集・整理した。(3)独立後のマダガスカル政府のシルク産業振興政策と中央高地における農業と野蚕・家蚕の製糸・製織を組み合わせた複合的なシルク生産システム、マダガスカル各地の製織文化と織機の多様性を実態調査により明らかにした。(4)繭・蚕糸・絹布の生産・流通システムの現状の問題点を明らかにし、それに対する提言をまとめた。(5)現地の生態環境に合ったシルク生産の発展に向けて、日本・インドの製糸・製織技術を応用する可能性を検討するための染織実験を実施し、その成果を公開した。
