1. Research on Front-End AmplifierBy using RF circuit simulators, the optimal design of Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) was performed. An EP-HEMT transistor was used for the first stage, and a PHEMT-MMIC was used for the second stage. Each simulation by ADS and Microwave Office showed an equivalent result, the gain was 25dB or more and the NF was 0.8dB or less. The value of EVM was very as small as -43dB, and satisfied the digital modulation transmission performance. It turned out that the design of the LNA is almost possible by using RF simulators such as ADS and Microwave Office, and the final component evaluation can be performed with digital RF communication system. This technique is effective for improvement in circuitry design speed, and the improvement in correlation with a system evaluation. About BPF, it turned out that 6 pole dielectric filter is the optimal. Research on Remoteness of Parabolic AntennaThe imaging data from a NOAA weather satellite is a digital signal of BPSK of 6665.4 kl/s. Since there was no actual instrument for the NOM transmitter the digital signals that were modulated with BPSK, QPSK, and 64QAM in the IEEE802.11-16, were used as an equivalent data format of the NOAA signal. The three different types of lasers were evaluated to replace an expensive external modulator of LiNbO3. The lower cost E/O devices of 1.3um and 1.55um MQW-DFB-LDs, which were designed for CATV, were excellent in the linear characteristics. The 1.3um EAMI DFB-LD was designed for the high-speed digital modulation. The evaluation is performed, by changing each conditions of modulation power (-30 to OdBm), modulation frequency (1.7 to 2.4GHz.), optical outputs (3 to 7mW), and optical fiber length (0 or 10km). The Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) and the value of Relative Constellation Error (RCE) etc. were measured and investigated. The DFB-LD of 1.3um and 1.55um showed the almost equivalent property. EAMI-DFB-LD showed relatively large EVM and RCE on the same condition.
