離島住民参加型の災害医療対策啓蒙活動として「命どぅ宝・ユイマールプロジェクト」に参加し、離島講習会の開催による離島住民への知識・技術提供を行った。3年間の沖縄県遠隔離島における講習会受講実績は約1,160名(19カ所28回)である。講習会の都度、指導者である保健医療従事者への学習会を実施し、各離島の特徴・対象者を考慮した指導内容、指導方法についての討議、およびフィードバックを行った。内容はプロジェクトのメーリングリスト上でも公開し共有した。平成19年9月には、この講習会を受講した離島住民3人によって、目の前で心肺停止に陥った同僚に対しAEDを用いた心肺蘇生法を実施して救命し、後遺症無く社会復帰を果たした。
