国内外の先行研究から、効果的な糖尿病自己管理教育とはどのようなものかについて調べたが、対象者の特性や教育方法が多様であることなどから、現在も結論が出ていないことがわかった。そこでまずは、今回の研究期間内で、療養行動に影響する患者側の要因の一つとされる、患者が自分の病気のことをどのように考えているか、について調べる尺度の開発に着手し、試作品を完成させた。実際の性能についての検証が今後の課題である。
