项目摘要

本年度は,昨年度に引き続き,現代フランス語圏文学の諸作品を読み解きながら,フランス現代社会の抱えた「ポストコロニアル」的な諸問題を検討した。周知のように,現代フランス語圏の作家のほとんどがかつてフランスの植民地であった地域に出自を持つ。彼ら・彼女らの作品には,幼年時代を描いたものや自伝的要素を含んだものが多い。作家たちが自らの生きてきた生活環壌を描くことは必然的に,その社会において,政治の領域から言語的・文化的な領域に至るまで抜きがたく現前するコロニアルあるいはポストコロニアルな支配と被支配の諸関係を明らかにすることになる。本年度の主要な成果の-つは,チャド出身でフランスに居住する小説家・詩人・エッセイストのNimrod氏にパリでインタビューしたことである。この国が独立する前年の1959年生まれのNimrod氏は,詩人として今年高名なFondane賞を受賞するなど,昨今の活躍は著しい。一人作家が自らの体験を通して明らかにしてくれたのは,フランスの旧植民地出身者にとって「フランス語で書く」ことの持つ重要性であった。フランス語は「学校」で習得された言語であるが,これを表現手段とすることで,より広い世界との接触が可能になったこと。フランス語が「母語」でないからこそ,文学的言語の実践に伴う根本的な「外国語性・他者性」をより強く意識できること。非西洋的な世界および感受性を描くことによって,フランス語がより普遍的なものに開かれていくこと。氏の指摘するブラック・ディアスポラの問題-多くのアフリカ出身の作家が母国の政情不安定と読者層の未形成によって,外国に居住しながら,その国の読者層に向けて,遠く離れた母国について書いているという事実が,いかなる効果を作家たちの思考と言葉に及ぼしているかを解明することが今後の課題である。
