本年度は確率的時間選好率モデルについての研究を主に行った。このモデルは意思決定主体の時間選好率が時間を通じて確率的に変化していくようなモデルであり、所得分布などを導出するために主体間に異質性を入れる目的でマクロ経済学やファイナンス理論でしばしば用いられてきた。しかし意思決定主体の選好の変化は私的情報であるので分析者には観測できないにもかかわらず、外生的なパラメータとして初めから仮定されており、明らかにアドホックという批判を免れなかった。当研究の目的は、効用関数表現を特徴づけることによる確率的時間選好率の行動的基礎付けである。研究の意義は、直接観測できない選好のパラメータ(確率的時間選好率)についての実証可能性に関するものであり、それによって経済政策の評価にも役立つという重要性がある。平成18年度からの研究成果として、Journal of Economic Theoryから論文の改訂と再投稿を求められている。本年度はレフェリーから求められている関連性のある結果の証明やモティベーションや公理のより詳細な説明、また確率的時間選好率モデルが応用されているマクロ経済学の文献整理などの論文改訂作業を主に行った。その結果近いうちに再投稿可能となる予定である。また理論モデルの応用として、時間選好率の不確実性が与える貯蓄消費行動への影響を分析した。将来の時間選好率についての不確実性が増した場合、その不確実性に備えるために、貯蓄が増加するという予備的貯蓄行動が予測される。この直観的予測を経済主体のコミットメントに対する回避性の程度によって厳密に説明できることがわかった。また時間選好率についての不確実性と、利子率についての不確実性では貯蓄行動に違いが現れることも明らかにした。
