项目摘要

本研究は、張謇が行った中国で初めて南通市における近代的な都市計画に関する研究を基礎にして,その都市計画思想にいかなる日本の影響があったかを明らかにして実証研究をするものである。本研究のアプローチは現地考察、人物訪問、文献研究などから構成されている。具体的には、張謇が訪問した都市を再度訪ね、当時のその都市の状況を把握して彼の事業との共通項をさぐり、日本における張謇の研究者も訪問し、張謇の訪日についての記事を探し、張謇が書いた「東遊日記」と比較し、張謇の訪日が彼の都市計画思想・南通市の近代都市建設に与えた影響を調査するものである。本年度に実施した研究の成果は下記にまとめる。1)学会発表および都市計画研究者との交流。オランダで開催される国際学会IFHP Working Party on Continuity andChange in Citiesにおいて,「Who Care,Who Go for,and Who Own the Power」をタイトルとした論文を発表した。2)張謇の訪問した都市の中に,長崎・神戸・大阪・京都・東京・札幌・名古屋などを訪問した。訪問の際に行ったことは,1)文献および古今地図の照らし合わせにより,張謇の訪問した機構,例えば学校,銀行,工場,神社,展示館など,の住所を見つけ,それらを現地考察・写真撮影し,得た情報を何通市の近代都市建設項目と照合し,張謇が受けた日本の影響を見出す。2)訪問現地において,博物館・資料館・図書館・本屋などで張謇の訪問した年代の都市および機構資料を掘り出す。張謇の日本訪問についての新聞・報道を見つけた。3)南通市を再訪問した。張謇の作った施設・建物を再考察した。南通市博物館で資料収集も行った。収集してきた写真・図表などの資料を整理し,張謇が受けた日本の影響を分析した。
