项目摘要

今年度は、A平安後期〜鎌倉前期における在京武士と院権力、B後鳥羽院政期の貴族社会、C承久の乱の軍事動員と院権威、についての研究を進め、A・Bの成果を発表した。A:近年に至る武士論研究では、京の重要性が指摘されている。しかし、従来の研究視角では武士の在京に関する個別事例の量的集積にとどまる傾向があり、在京武士自体の総体的な考察が必要と思われる。そこで、治承・寿永内乱期でも特に重要な事例に富む木曾義仲在京期を中心に、従来は曖昧であった京武者や在京武士の特質を整理した。そして、在京武士と、平家・義仲・義経と交代する在京武力中枢、および院との関係を考察した。また、著名でありながら従来は政治史的研究の僅少だった、木曾義仲の政権構想とその限界を考察した。その成果の一部として「法住寺合戦」(『木曾義仲のすべて』)を公表し、それとは別の題の論文を執筆・投稿した。また、鎌倉前期の在京御家人・京武者の存在形態と、彼ら在京武士総体に対する後鳥羽院の軍事動員・権門武力組織の特質を考察した「後鳥羽院政期の在京武士と院権力-西面再考-」(『鎌倉時代の権力と制度』)を公表した。B:「後鳥羽院と公家衆」「後鳥羽院関係年譜」(ともに『後鳥羽院のすべて』)を公表した。前者では、思想史をも視野に入れて、「上の好む所、下必ず之に従う」という論理で後鳥羽批判と後鳥羽賞賛の両方が展開するのは、親縁や芸能に基づき近臣を優遇した後鳥羽の正負両面を表しているとした。後者は、既往の同題の年譜よりも詳細と思われる。C:承久三年五月十五日、後鳥羽院が、鎌倉の執権北条義時の追討を命じた文書として、同日付「官宣旨案」と「院宣」がある。従来は理解が不十分であった、この「院宣」と「官宣旨」の関係を考察した。また、この点と関わって、後鳥羽による北条義時追討の軍事動員計画についても考察した。
