项目摘要

平成20年度、報告者は、「マリ南西部セヌフォ社会における社会・経済的変化と宗教的実践に関する人類学的研究」という研究課題および研究計画を実施した。具体的には、報告者は、現地語セヌフォ語転写、学術雑誌論文執筆、文献資料収集、理論的枠組みの構築、海外学術調査に従事した。年次前半部同年4月より8月までは、前年度3月まで実施された海外学術調査で収集された夥しい調査資料を整理し、セヌフォ語転写テクストの作成、理論的枠組みの構築、学術雑誌論文執筆準備にほとんどの時間を割いた。年次後半部同年9月より平成21年3月まで、年次前半部で実施されたセヌフォ語の調査資料、とくに母系出自集団、それに深いかかわりをもつ双子観念、妖術観念に関する録音資料を検討するなかででてきた問題意識にもとづいて、海外学術調査にて再度この種の調査資料を収集した。当海外学術調査では、同時に綿花生産農民の貸付に関する録音調査をおこなうことで、居住集団ダアラによっておもに担われていた農地経営の単位が崩壊しているさまを描くことができる予定である。綿花経営の具体と貸付の状況を整理し示すことにより、多くの綿花生産農民が経営難に陥り減損することで、若者たちのダアラ長(拡大家族長)への権威が大きく失墜するさまを実証的に記述する準備ができた。そこでの結論は、このダアラ長への権威が失墜することの帰結が、そのキョウダイや子供たちが任意に農地経営を始め、具体的成員を前提とするダアラが集団的性格を徐々に弱めることにつながるというものである。その結果、小農は家族内で世帯を形成する最小母系出自集団を軸に生産・消費単位を分割し形成する。財を蓄積した最小ネルバガが母系で実施される葬送儀礼で財を自由に出費することで儀礼が再活性化されている実態が調査を通して判明した。
