项目摘要

5 Senses-Lab is a research unit consists of art educators from the faculty of the Miyagi University of Education, and its purpose is to establish a new educational model of combining visual arts, music, dance and literature by activating basic senses of seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and so on.In order to introduce interdisciplinary art education into the teacher training courses at the Miyagi University of Education, 5 Senses-Lab has invited artists, art educators and instructors from various fields to designing collaborative workshops for experimenting on anew framework for "inter-arts" curriculum. We also collaborated with regional cultural institutions such as Miyagi Museum of Art, Sendai Mediatheque and 10-Box Theater and developed three major satellite projects; a satellite gallery, a satellite theater and a satellite studio where artists, teachers and students could exchange ideas for interdisciplinary art education and could awake sensitivity for non-traditional art expression.The main research programs of 5 Senses-Lab were as follows1. Satellite Gallery One Hundred Paintings by Children from▲ATELIER COPAIN2. Satellite Theater Crossroad-Noh, Pantomime, Improvisational Dance3. Satellite Studio: Open Workshops for Developing Collaborative Art Classes-Communication through Sound Objects and Sound Performance4. Body and Visual Image: Performance Education using Digitally Processed Image Projection5. Making Toys: Design Workshop for Learning through Playing6. Basic on-site experimental forum for disclose creative process of children and students.7. Gathering various materials on interdisciplinary art education, and opening of 5 Senses-Lab website.5 Senses-Lab has an enduring research program for the next stage of collaborative effort of developing curriculum for interdisciplinary art education at the Miyagi University of Education.
