The history of Rough sets which was proposed by the professor of Poland in 1982 already becomes twenty years or more. However, although the expectation for the application was great, many of the researches were theoretical ones in the world until now. The applied research in Japan began from several years ago. Then, the purpose of this research was development and improvement of the technique of Rough sets suitable for application through many application case studies.In this research, we mainly developed and improved the method of analyzing Decision rules proposed by us which are many if-then rules obtained from the result of Rough sets. Not only development of the mathematical technique of Rough sets but also the preparatory step before its calculation becomes important at the applied research. For example, they are how to obtain an attribute or an attribute value of a data table suitable for a concrete case study and how to decide Decision class of it, etc. They are useful also for considering the analysis result. Then, through the case study of each field, we devised the method of obtaining an attribute or an attribute value by use of the evaluation grid method and the method of deciding the determination class by use of the view of frequency distribution, and we did the application research. These application researches were the product development field (personal CD player), the graphic design field (cosmetic product), the interface design field (personal digital audio player), the marketing field (mobile telephone), and the architecture design field (facade design).In addition, it was found out that Rough sets contributed also to design concept 'making related to creativity as the result of application researches. We also proposed the method of making a design concept through case studies.
