特性的に不安傾向の高い者に対して,対処的悲観性の心理教育を行うことにより,パフォーマンスおよび心身の健康を促進できるかを検討した。まず,質問紙調査によって介入対象者をスクリーニングし,12名の特性不安者から協力が得られた。彼らに対して,対処的悲観性の機能や,そのメリットとデメリット,さらにデメリットの軽減法などを記載した心理教育的テキストを用いて,1ヶ月にわたり郵送形式による4回の介入を行った。さらに3ヶ月ごとに計3回のフォローアップ調査を行った。最終的に11名から計7回分のデータが得られた。その結果,量的変数として自らの悲観的思考に対する受容度に上昇がみられ,さらに自由記述からパフォーマンスや心身り健康に関する改善が多数報告された。前年度からの検討も継続された。前年度は,対処的悲観性に関する心理教育が対処的悲観者の心身の健康に及ぼす影響を明らかにするため,27名の対処的悲観者に対して縦断的介入を行った。その結果を詳細に検討するため,本年度は約200名の大学生に対して春と冬の二度にわたり質問紙調査を行い,そこから抽出された対処的悲観者32名を統制群として分析に用いた。その結果,量的および質的変数の両面から,対処的悲観者の心身の健康に取って,自らの悲観的思考の機能を認識することが重要であることが示された。以上の結果から,対処的悲観性に関する心理教育が,対処的悲観者および高不安者に対して望ましい影響を与える可能性が示唆された。本研究によって,高不安者や悲観者に対して,従来の楽観的思考を適用するアプローチのみでなく,その不安や悲観的思考を有効に活用し,受容していくことで適応が高まる可能性を示すことができたことは,臨床実践への応用可能性もある意義深い知見といえよう。
