项目摘要

本研究は、北東アジアの高緯度地域において更新世末から完新世初頭の狩猟採集民が環境に適応するためにどのような技術開発と行動選択を行なったのかを明らかにすることを目的としている。検討対象を北海道の細石刃石器群とし、細石刃石器群の構造を明らかにすることで当該域における人類の環境への適応行動の解明を目指す。平成20年度は、前年度行った北海道中央部石狩低地帯南部の石器群の分析を継続するとともに、北海道北東部の十勝平野・常呂川流域・湧別川流域などの地域にも対象を広げ、石器資料の実見・分析を行った。十勝平野は、石狩低地帯南部と同様に層位的出土状況が良好な石器群が数多く検出され、精度の高い発掘調査が行われている地域であることから重点的に検討した。上記の石器群を可能な限り全点観察・分析することにより、各遺跡における石器群の剥離過程(原石の採集→素材生産→道具製作)および石材消費形態(遺跡への石器の搬入・剥離・搬出形態)を明らかにした。これを踏まえて、北海道内の地形学的に一地域として区分され、ほぼ同時期の複数遺跡をひとつの分析単位として、石器群の剥離過程および石材消費形態の地域間比較を行った。結果、それぞれの地域で異なる石材環境(採集できる石材の種類・サイズ・形状、露頭・産地までの距離)に該期の狩猟採集民が個別の石材消費戦略を採り、遊動生活を行うことで更新世末から完新世への気候変動に適応している様相が明らかとなった。

This study focuses on the development of technology and action options in the high-latitude regions of the Northeast and East China, from the end of the Pleistocene to the beginning of the New Century. A study of the structure of the fine stone tools in Hokkaido and the interpretation of human environmental behavior in this area Analysis of stone tool groups in the southern part of the central part of Hokkaido in the previous year, and analysis of stone tool data in the Tokachi, Hirano, and Ubetsu river basins in the northern part of Hokkaido. The stone tools may be examined and analyzed at all points, and the separation process of the stone tools in each relic (collection of raw stones → production of materials → production of props) and the consumption pattern of the stone tools (transfer, separation and removal pattern of the stone tools in the relics) are clearly described. This is a regional comparison of topography in Hokkaido, analysis of multiple sites at the same time, separation of stone tools, and regional comparison of stone consumption patterns. As a result, the stone environment varies from region to region (the type, shape, outcrop, origin and distance of stone collected), and the hunters of this period have different consumption strategies for individual stones, such as mining, swimming and living, from the end of Pleistocene to the end of Pliocene.
