主に二つの研究を行った。第一は、貨幣を媒介として取引が行われる世界をモデル化し、その特徴を調べた。貨幣を媒介として取引が行われる世界では、超過需要が存在(現行の価格で買いたいと思い、かつその分の貨幣を持っているにも関わらず財を手に入れることのできない消費者が存在)したとしても、買い手が支払った貨幣の量と売り手が受け取った貨幣の量が常に一致してしまうため、超過需要が存在しても経済は「安定」してしまい、超過需要を解消する価格調整メカニズムが働かないことを明らかにした。さらに、超過需要が大きいと労働から賃金を得ても財を買える確率が低くなり、労働のインセンティブを阻害するため、貨幣経済における財市場の価格調整メカニズムの失敗が失業率にも影響することを指摘した。この研究は論文にまとめられ、2007年日本経済学会春季大会において発表された。第二は、上記の研究をより一般化する研究を行った。これまで、貨幣経済の研究は、一部の研究を除き、経済の安定した状態(定常均衡)のみを分析してきた。それに対し、経済がある時点で特定の状態にあったとき、これからどのような経路を取るのかを分析する研究を行った。貨幣経済においては超過需要があっても買い手が支払った貨幣の量と売り手が受け取った貨幣の量が常に一致してしまうという性質から、現在から将来に渡ってどのような経路を取るかは消費者の超過需要に対する予想に完全に依存し、現在の状態から将来の経路を特定することは不可能であるということを示した。この結果は、中央銀行が金融政策を行い人々の貨幣保有量を変えたとしてもそれが経済に対してどのような影響を与えるかは全く予想できないということを示している。このように貨幣経済の非決定性に関する研究とその政策インプリケーションに対して研究を行った。
