项目摘要

Bauer et al.(2008)の研究に基づき,親密な対人関係の観点から,自己の成長に対する動機づけとwell-beingとの関連を検討した。欧米の研究では,個人がいかに認知的に複雑な見方をしようとするのかという認知的な成熟へ向けた動機づけと,自分自身の内在的な豊かさ(自己成長や対人関係の向上)を志向する動機づけがそれぞれ個人の成熟やwell-beingといった適応に重要であることが示唆されていた。これらの動機付けはすべて個人内の成長を重視したものである。本研究では日本の集団主義的な文化的背景を考慮し,このような動機づけが個人内のみの観点に完結するのではなく,社会貢献や対人関係全体を考慮するという集団としての成長の視点が重要となることを検討した。これまでの自伝的物語から,個人の成熟やwell-beingにとって重要となる視点を抽出し,成長に対する動機づけの尺度が開発された(Bauer et al.,2008)。本研究ではそれを邦訳し,日本版の尺度を開発した。さらに,この尺度とwell-beingとの関連を検討した結果,日本人の成長の動づけは,個人の内面を深めるという個人内の視点のみではなく,社会貢献に対する動機づけと,親密な関係をよりよくするという動機づけがあることが示された。さらに,社会貢献に対する動機づけは,個人のwell-beingにとってもっとも大きな影響力があることが示された。以上の結果から,日本の文化的背景においては,個人が個人としてのみ成長しようとする動機づけだけではなく,社会全体に貢献しようとする動機づけ,あるいは親密な関係を向上しようとする動機づけが,結果的に個人のwell-beingにとって重要となることが示唆された。
