1研発の具体的内容(1)インド仏教の主要教団の一つである<根本説一切有部>が伝承した文献『根本説一切有部律』の中の一章「薬事」を、チベット語訳を中心にサンスクリット語原典と漢訳を対照しつつ比較読解し、その和訳作業を行った。この作業は19年度より継続して行い、20年度に終了したものである。その過程で、上記三種の「薬事」に引用される経典をすべて抽出し、その内容と引用形態を調査するとともに、並行資料に関する情報を集積し、「薬事」における経典引用のリストを準備した。(2)また比較読解作業を通して「薬事」の複雑な構造を整理、図表化し、その中で現存する三種類のテクストの相違に関する情報も整理した。2研究の意義、重要性根本説一切有部はインド仏教史においてきわめて重要な位置を占める部派であるにもかかわらず、その依拠した聖典集成である経蔵(阿含)は部分的にしか現存しない。本研究はその阿含に含まれる経典を、同じくこの部派が伝承した教団規則の集成である律蔵(『根本説一切有部律』)から引用文として抽出するこころみであり、1(1)に記した通り「薬事」をサンスクリット語、漢訳、チベット語訳の三言語対照によって精査することでその経典引用を網羅した。また、「薬事」は経典引用も含めて多彩な教理的、説話的記述からなる文献であるが、厖大な分量のために従来その全貌を知ることが難しかった。1(2)の成果により、研究者が「薬事」にアクセスするための重要な足がかりを提示しうると思われる。
