Development of the educational program for the prevention of life-style related diseases of schoolchildren in collaboration with schools

作为与学校和社区合作预防小学生生活方式相关疾病的教育项目，开展了以下活动：（1）血液检查和生活方式问卷调查；（2）测量血压的培训；（3）生活方式相关疾病预防教育班。该计划的结果是，学童对自己的健康更加感兴趣。他们将生活方式疾病视为自己的问题，健康意识增强，有意改变健康行为。因此，有人建议该教育计划有可能使学童养成适合自己的生活方式。此外，血液检查显示超重与胰岛素抵抗增加之间存在关系。超重的学童应注意这种胰岛素抵抗。

As an educational program for the prevention of life-style related diseases of schoolchildren in collaboration with schools and community, the following things were conducted : (1) blood examination and questionnaire on life-styles, (2) training of measuring blood pressure, (3) educational classes on prevention of life-style related diseases. As the results of this program, schoolchildren had more interest in their own health. They regarded the life-style diseases as their own problem, and they became more health conscious and intended to change their health behaviors. It was hence suggested that this educational program had a possibility to make schoolchildren lead to their appropriate life-styles. In addition, the blood examinations showed a relation between overweight and increasing insulin resistance. Such insulin resistance should be noted in overweight schoolchildren.
