英文摘要
1. Purpose The purpose of this study was to develop an assessment tool to predict the rolling patterns among the elderly patients, based on a formula that considers their associated physical characteristics.2. Method Subjects : 36 elderly individuals over 65 years old. Procedure : The rolling patterns (criterion variable) were classified in groups, according to their associated physical characteristics (explanatory variable). The predictive formulas were developed according to the variables, and then implemented as a computerized assessment tool. The evaluation of this tool was later conducted by 5 nurses working with elderly patients.3. Results(1)Rolling patterns Each roll was completed by a series of actions which presented a specific pattern to assist motion ; for the patients observed, 3 different rolling patters were detected Shoulders-first type : The shoulders rotate before the pelvis. The trunk rotates from the upper body. Pelvis-first type : The pelvis rotates before the shoulders. The trunk rotates from the lower body. Pelvis-first type : By raising the knees and pushing against the floor, the pelvis and shoulders rotate at the same time. No twisting of the trunk occurs.(2) Formulas The rolling movements were determined by two formulas. The formula's rate of successful prediction of the rolling movement was 70.9%. (p<0.01) z1=1.03* sex+1.11* knee raise-1.05 *a quadriceps femoris muscle MMT+0.01* hip joint adduction ROM+0.19 * pelvis push up- 2.24 z2=-0.73 * sex+0.21 * knee raise+0.74* a quadriceps femoris muscle MMT-0.08* hip joint adduction ROM+0.63*pelvis push up-5.16 The group center of gravity Shoulders-first type z1: 0.53, z2: -0.524, Pelvis-first type z1: -1.828, z2: -0.132, Pelvis-first type z1: 0.288, z2: 0.558 The successful prediction rate was 60% among another group.(3)Assessment tool The formulas were implemented on a computer as the assessment tool. These were modified according trial's evaluation in order to increase their accuracy.
