本研究では、研究開発のための戦略的提携やサプライチェーンにおけるネットワーク形成といった、経営システムにおける大規模なネットワーク形成の問題を考え、各企業等の事業主体の提携行動に対する合理的意思決定を、モデルを用いて科学的に分析することを目的とした。モデルはゲーム理論的手法により新たに作成した。そしてその解析によって、複雑かつ大規模な状況下でのネットワーク形成に関して、従来研究では得られなかった様々な形成メカニズムの解明と、戦略的な示唆を得ることができた。
