项目摘要

本研究は、東北シラビーム方言の実態究明のために、先ずは調査法上の諸問題を検証することからはじめ、次いで当シラビーム現象の語性的・音環境的傾向を検討。その各傾向と発音者自身の音意識との関わりを探るとともに、当該特殊音の実現の実際を単語および文発話レベルの双方から追究するものである。対象地点は東北6県および新潟県北部の33地点。話者は土着の高・中年層(70〜40歳代)を中心とする131名である。調査は目的に応じ、主として質問・読み上げ・自然談話の各調査によった。なお、具体音声は全てDATに記録し、分析は「音声録聞見」または「SUGI Speech Analyzer」によった。以上の調査・分析の結果、明らかになったことの大要は次のとおりである。(1)同一方言(同一話者)にあって、単語単独の読み上げ調査ではモーラに、方言文型の読み上げ調査ではシラビームに、質問調査ではそれらの中間的性質に現れる傾向が強く、各特殊音の持続時間は調査法によって大きく規定される。(2)その持続時間は同時に音環境によっても規定される場合があり、単独音節や語末環境では顕著なシラビームの実態にあるのにひきかえ、非語末環境ではほとんどそれがみとめられない。(3)加えて連母音融合音、具体音声を忠実に模す必要のある擬音語などにおいても、現象はさほど顕著であるとはみとめがたい。(4)また一方、当該特殊音はそれ自体が独立しないというよりはむしろ、話速全体が縮約されて現れる傾向が強く、純粋にシラビームの単位とみとめられるものは実はそれほど多いわけではない。(5)さらに文発話においては、当該特殊拍の欠落による寸詰まり感を、後接拍の長短により文全体として帳尻を合わそうとする向きさえある。(6)それらを裏づけるように、話者の音意識としては曖昧であるかむしろモーラ的でさえあり、必ずしも特殊拍が認識されないことを意味しているわけではない。(7)以上を総合するならば、当事象は、従来の音韻現象(特殊拍が知覚されないがための短縮)から発音の簡便化等を志向した音声現象へと変質しつつあることが予測される。

This study examines the linguistic and phonological environment tendency of the Northeast Chinese dialect in terms of its actual state and the problems in the research method. The relationship between the sound consciousness of the speaker and the actual occurrence of the special sound is discussed.
