Anthropological Study on the Civil Formation and Revitalization Seen in the Invention of Festival and Social Participation

本研究以高知、札幌、名古屋、佐世保和东京为例，从民族志的角度，探讨了“Yosakoi-Matsuri”作为一种新型的地方节日在日本日益流行和成功，对参与者公民意识的发展和地方社区的复兴过程产生的社会影响。特别关注的是发达的参与非正规部门已被边缘化，在传统的地方社会，特别是作为一个自我表达的舞蹈家或音乐家，积极的成员在团队建设，组织工作人员或协调员在当地的活动，和他们的自我意识和自力更生的行为转变检查与振兴共同领域。

Given the increasing popularity and successfulness of 'Yosakoi-Matsuri' as a new style of local festival in Japan, the present research examined its social impacts on the growth of civil consciousness among participant residents and the process of revitalization of local communities, based on the ethnographical approaches to the cases in Kochi, Sapporo, Nagoya, Sasebo and Tokyo for examples. Special focus is on the developed participation among informal sectors which has been marginalized in conventional local societies, especially as a self-expressive dancer or musician, active member in team-building, organizing staff or coordinator in local activities, and their transformed self-consciousness and self-reliant behavior is examined in relation with the revitalized common spheres.
