After the investigation of canonical sources from England of twelfth century, the following results were obtained : the Anglo-Norman school of canonists or the Anglo-Norman canon law, which flourished in the late twelfth and the early thirteenth century, produced their earliest work on canon law, Summa De multiplici iuris divisionein c.1160s ; the concept of double punishment in the Summa De multiplici iuris division was similar with that of double punishment in the Constitutions of Clarendon of 1164. It shows that there is a similarity on this concept between the Anglo-Norman canon law and the emerging common law.

通过对12世纪英国教会法典的研究，得出以下结论：12世纪末13世纪初兴盛的盎格鲁-诺曼教会法典学派或称盎格鲁-诺曼教会法学派，在1160年代左右出版了他们最早的关于教会法的著作《多种法律大全》（Summa De multiplici iuris division）;《多重法律总结》中的双重惩罚概念与1164年《克拉伦登宪法》中的双重惩罚概念相似。这表明，盎格鲁-诺曼教会法和新兴的普通法在这一概念上有相似之处。
