本研究では、多重刺激応答機能と特異な高次構造及びその転移機能を併せ持つ新規アミノ酸系材料の創製を目的として、様々なアミノ酸含有多成分系高分子材料の精密合成手法を確立した。さらに、特異な機能を有するアミノ酸を精密に合成された高分子鎖中にブロック的に配列させることで、多重刺激応答性及びその高次構造の動的変換を実現した。これらの成果により、究極の生体高分子であるタンパク質に一段階近づくことに成功したと言える。
