本研究では, 金属と誘電体からなるサブ波長周期格子を用いたスラブ導波路型の高分散分光プリズムの設計と試作に取り組んだ. 素子設計においては, 波長分散能に対するプリズム設計方法を確立するとともに, 集光機能を持った分光プリズムを提案した. 素子作製方法の開発では, 開口100nmの深溝にスパッタリングによって金属薄膜を設けた後に銅電解メッキで溝部に金属充填を行う方法, および, テトラクロロ金(III)酸を用いた前処理後に無電解メッキを施す方法について, プロセスを確立した.
