各種土壌からアーバスキュラー菌根菌を単離し、コンパートメントポット培養により菌糸の浸出物を含む土壌溶液を回収し、酸性ホスファターゼ活性を測定したところ、泥炭土壌から単離したGlomus clarumが高い酸性ホスファターゼ活性を示した。この酸性ホスファターゼ活性はフッ化ナトリウム及びモリブデン酸ナトリウムにより阻害された。SDS-PAGEにより菌糸の浸出物中の酸性ホスファターゼは菌特異的であることが明らかとなった。
