Mycobacterium species possess lipid rich cell wall, which is well known to induce innate immune response in host cells through toll like receptors(TLRs). The signal transduction form the receptor is partly shared with it form interleukin 1 receptor (IL-1R). We compared the inducing activity of NF-kB between M. tuberculosis and its vaccine strain BCG. The activity related to their virulence.
