本研究では、英語母国語圏の英語使用者がインド英語のような"outer circle"に属する英語を聞き取る際、韻律的手がかりを利用しているかどうかを明らかにするため、4つの条件下における音声言語認識実験を行った。実験の結果、次の四点が示唆された。(1)音節の長短によって形成される表現の全体的なリズム情報(音節拍リズム)が、音声言語の認識に貢献する。(2)非定型表現におけるメロディ情報は、疑問文・平叙文などの文構造の認識に貢献する。(3)英語母国語圏の英語使用者は、インド英語に比べアメリカ英語の聞き取りにおいてより効果的にプロソディ情報を利用する。(4)インド英語の聞き取りでは、アメリカ英語の聞き取りに比べ、語の境界線(word boundary)をまたぐ聞き間違い(誤聴)が頻繁である。

This study aims to explore the use of prosodic and prosodic language skills by English speakers in the English mother tongue under the following conditions: The result of the experiment is that the four points of the experiment are shown below. (1)The length of syllables and the formation of sounds represent the overall information of sounds (rhythm) and contribute to the recognition of sounds and speech. (2)Non-stereotyped performance, information, questions, text structure and contribution (3)English speakers in the English parent language are encouraged to use English as a tool for learning English. (4)The English word boundary is frequently used in English.
