This research focuses on the transmission of knowledge on Japan to the Netherlands in the 17th century. We analyzed the nature of the knowledge on Japan and the route through which the knowledge was transmitted as well as how it was diffused, used and understood. We found following results :(1) In the 17th century high level up-to-date knowledge on Japan was diffused in Europe through the Netherlands(2) The Dutch East India Company played an important role as transmitter of this knowledge.(3) In the Netherlands there was a vivid interest for things Japanese and there was a feeling of familiarity towards Japanese culture.

本研究主要探讨日本知识在17世纪世纪向荷兰的传播。我们分析了日本知识的性质、传播途径以及传播、使用和理解的方式。研究结果表明：（1）17世纪，高水平的日本近代知识通过荷兰传播到欧洲;（2）荷兰东印度公司作为日本近代知识的传播者发挥了重要作用。(3)在荷兰，人们对日本的事物产生了浓厚的兴趣，对日本文化也有一种熟悉的感觉。
