今年度は、コソボ紛争を経験したイタリアおよびドイツに居住するアルバニア系移民に関して実地調査を行った。イタリアには、近接するバルカン半島各地から来た、歴史的経験の多様なアルバニア系移民が居住している。移民のうち、紛争後にコソボを脱出してきた人々は、独自の集会を開催していることがわかった。とくに注目すべき点は、毎年3・4月に紛争犠牲者を弔う式典が開催されていたことである。調査時、夫がコソボ紛争において殺害された寡婦に面談することができた。面談により、20年経過しても未だ直接経験に基づく紛争の記憶が鮮明に維持され、紛争犠牲者としての自己認識を表明していることが明らかになった。紛争を想起する集会においては、悲惨な経験に関する集合的記憶の維持のみならず、心的外傷を緩和する効果をもつことが推察された。ドイツでは、コソボ出身のアルバニア系夫婦に聞き取り調査を行った。コソボ調査時には未婚であったインフォーマントの20代女性は、結婚後にドイツに移住してきた。現在、夫の父系親族が近隣に居住し、頻繁に相互訪問を行っている。妻の20代女性は、ドイツ語のコミュニケーションに苦労を感じながらも、移住地の生活に満足していると語っていた。興味深い点は、人々がイスラームの活動をさほど熱心に行っていなかったことである。これは、家族が移住前のコソボにおいても都市近郊に居住し、経済的にも比較的恵まれた階層にあり、イスラーム信仰が比較的緩やかだったことが一因と考えられる。また、ドイツにおけるイスラーム系移民に対する、キリスト教主流社会との日常的な接触、メディアで報じられる反移民活動により、イスラーム教徒であることをあえて明示しない可能性もある。今後、聞き取り調査資料の詳細な分析が必要であるが、少なくとも当該家族に限定してみるならば、イスラームの戒律に拘束されない生活を自主的に選択しているように見受けられた。
