平成28年度以来取り組んできた啓蒙的和算書のデータベースを完成し、報告書を作成する予定であったが、2019年後半からのコロナの蔓延により大学の授業もすべてリモートのオンライン授業やハイブリット授業となり、それに時間や労力をとられて研究をすることができなくなった。また予定していた調査も2019年2月以来史料所蔵機関の休館や時間制や抽選などによる入館制限、移動の自粛などが障害となりできなくなった。そのため順次補助事業期間の延長を申請して認められ、3年間研究を中断することになった。その間は、本科学研究については、主としてデジタル・アーカイブの閲覧により、和算書に加え、「重宝記」などの和算書以外の書物で和算の知識を部分的に掲載した書物の収集と分析を行い、データベースに加えてきた。また仙台や広島といった三都以外での地域での和算書の系統の整理も行ってきた。このことは不十分ながら成果としてあげられる。今年度から本務校での授業等もほぼ通常に戻り、史料所蔵機関における閲覧も正常化しつつある。長い中断期間があったが、今年は最終年度として補完的な史料調査を行った上で、データベースの公開と報告の作成をウェブ上で行う予定である。
