本研究は、日本国内に現存する漢籍に記された書き入れについて、とくに中世の漢籍講義や注釈活動に遡るものに着目し、そこに含まれる広範な知識の内容を検討するとともに、そのあり方を史料学的に位置づけることによって、中国文学や日本文学の分野にとどまらず、日本中世史研究の史料として活用する方法を確立しようとするものである。本年度の研究においては、前年度までに引き続き、基礎的作業として蔵書目録等によって書き入れ等を有する漢籍の所在状況を把握することに努める一方で、関東近県および京都府の寺院や史料所蔵機関において漢籍等を含む広範な史料の調査を行い、中世に遡り得る漢籍書き入れの有無を確認した。具体的には、前年度に引き続き埼玉県に所在する禅宗寺院について調査を行い、とくに近世初期の版本への書き入れや写本作成の状況について検討を行った。また、京都府に所在する真言宗寺院に架蔵される漢籍・禅籍についての調査も行った。これらの調査で撮影した史料のうち所蔵者の承諾が得られたものについては、史料編纂所図書室において写真帳もしくはボーンデジタルの形で順次閲覧公開に供している。また、これらの調査を踏まえて、漢籍から得られる知識についての研究を行った。本年は、禅僧の漢籍をめぐる講述活動のなかでも、とくに室町期の相国寺周辺で見られた唐物「ギョウ瓦硯」に関する言説を検討し、それが北山殿（金閣）を漢・建章宮と重ね合わせる認識を支える文物の一つとなっていることを考察した。また、仁和寺所蔵史料のなかに、「四十九院」と呼ばれる石造物への梵字書き入れをめぐって、戦国期東国の曹洞宗と真言宗との間で宗論があったことを示す史料があることを検討し、その史料紹介を行った。
