アテナイの公私関係を考える上で、市民権と、市民が担うべき公共性は避けて通ることのできないテーマである。とくに2022年度は、女性に焦点を当てた研究活動をおこなった。まず、『ネアイラ弾劾』の邦訳を出版したことを、本科研にかかわる成果として掲げておきたい。『ネアイラ弾劾』は、非市民女性を弾劾対象とすることから、女性市民も含めた、市民社会のありかたと、市民性を考えるための最適の資料である。出版に際して、女性市民権をめぐる詳細な解説をほどこした。女性市民権をめぐる考察は、年度当初に岩波講座『世界歴史』のための原稿としてもまとめることができた。女性の「声」として女性史を描くための準備を継続中である。延期となっていたブロック教授の来日にあわせたワークショップCitizenship and Participation in Classical Athensを11月に大阪大学でハイブリッド開催した。ブロック教授の基調報告に、女性市民権、宗教、男性の市民性、外国人や商業従事者といった、市民権を巡る問題に取り組んできた我が国の研究者によるコメントと個別報告を加え、充実したワークショップとなった。研究代表者本人も企画のほか、先述のデモステネス５９番弁論『ネアイラ弾劾』に現れる女性市民ポリティスの語についての分析をおこない、ブロック教授がこれまでCitizenship in Classical Athensほかの著述において重ねてきた女性市民ポリティスの研究に、いささかの貢献をすることができた。さらに、本科研に関連して、コミュニティと情報の関係を通事的に比較検討するために、前近代のメディアをめぐる研究会を継続的に開催してきた。本年度も４回の研究会をおこなった。
