愛国教育との関係でどのように道徳教育が行われたのか、1960年代以降の台湾を中心に研究を進めた。台湾と中国大陸の厳しい関係のなかで、台湾の全民国防教育など高校生における軍事教育の在り方を論じ、そこにみられる道徳性も明らかにした。また、高校生がどんな視点で国防教育を学ぶのかを具体的に説明した。さらに、戦後台湾の生徒指導についても論じた。非行少年に関わる指導・職業指導・進学指導についてその当時の公文書を用いてオリジナリティーある研究ができたと考える。これら研究から、当時道徳的であったものが何かを明らかにできた。中国・香港・マカオ、台湾の非行少年に対してどのような支援制度があるのかも現在的な視点で整理した。今年度は主に台湾を中心に議論したが、非行少年に関しては中国・香港・マカオの状況について広く論じた。非行少年の現状・法律を含めた支援体制の在り方を示すなかで、それぞれの社会における非行少年の立ち位置について明らかにした。それはまさに国・地域の道徳的な判断が示されるものであった。ほかに、現在の台湾と日本の不登校の問題について研究を行った。不登校をどのように捉えるのかは道徳的な視点も働く。現在の日本は子どものことを考え登校刺激をしないが、台湾では積極的に登校させる努力をする。この違いは台湾と日本の学校に対する意識の違いではなく、支援の在り方の違いである。本研究は道徳教育に関わるものであるが、道徳教育は価値を伝えるものだけではない。目の前にいる子どもにどのように関わるのかが最終的に重視される。本年度は子どもへの関わりについて現実的な研究を進めることができた。
