To allow sensitive evaluation of early cartilage abnormalities in the hip or knee joints, we developed quantitative MR imaging system under in-situ loading system. By experimental and clinical studies, cartilage T2 mapping by loading was indicated as a promising index for evaluating early cartilage abnormalities and abnormal biomechanical conditions around the articular cartilage.
