本症に対する治療実態の現況が不明のなか、当教室で独自に開発した2種の低侵襲手術法すなわち内視鏡下顎関節脱臼手術および局所麻酔下での関節切開による関節結節形成術を適応して、その有用性と適応症、偶発症について明らかとすることを目的とした結果、手術前後の詳細な症状推移、偶発症、画像所見推移の記録、手術法の詳細より、上記の両手術法は合併症なく実行でき、概ね良好に経過したことが判明した。
