博物館と学校との連携によって、学校の余裕教室へ移動博物館を展開した。学芸員や博物館ボランティアの派遣を行い、授業などでの活用によって児童の環境配慮意識にどのような変容があるかを検証した。その結果、対象児童全員の環境配慮意識の向上が見られた。また、地域住民による地元産出化石や文化財の寄付が見られたり、学校博物館で講師をしたりするなど、生涯学習の視点から実り多い動きが見られた。
