项目摘要

本研究は、英語語用論の"理解"の過程を習得の重要なステップと捉え、日本人学習者がどのように英語の語用論を理解するか、語用の誤解や取り違えはなぜ起こるのかを明らかにし、日本人学習者の英語語用論の理解に役立つマルチメディアeラーニング教材の開発を研究課題とした。最終目標は「eラーニング教材試作版」を作成することであった。具体的な手順と内容は以下の通りである。(1) 20年作成の誤解のカテゴリー一覧表にしたがってeラーニング教材用のストーリーを作成した。(2) ストーリーごとの素材をもとに、日本語、英語のスクリプトを作成した。(3) eラーニング教材の提示方法としてのビデオ動画を、利用の簡便なデジタルカメラを用いて作成した。(4) 教材案(ストーリー、プロット)を実際のeラーニング素材に編集し、作成した。(5) これと並行して、留学経験のある日本人英語学習者にアンケート調査を行い、ミスコミュニケーションや誤解のケースを明らかにした。(6) これらの教材を使った日本人英語学習者のための語用論学習用シラバスを完成させた。(7) 海外、国内の学会で成果を発表した。国内ではJALT PanSIG学会(東洋学園、5月23日)、全国語学教育学会(JALT)国際大会(静岡、11月21日)での発表、海外ではIPrA(国際語用論学会(オーストラリア・メルボルン、7月15日)の発表を行った。意義、重要性等:コミュニケーションを目的とする語学の習得は単語や表現(文法)を使えるようになるだけでは不十分で、文化の違う相手の意図をくみとり、相手に自分の意向を伝えるための細かい配慮が必要である。映像を伴うeラーニングによって自習学習できる本教材の意義は大きい。海外の学会では言語の異なる研究者からも本教材を十分使用できる(例:中国語、フランス語など)との指摘を得、本教材の重要性が認識された。
