本研究の目的は、地域における高齢者と子どもの世代間交流プログラムの国際的評価基準を確立することである。平成24年度は日本版の地域世代間交流観察評価尺度(Community Observation Scale=CIOS)の確定ならびに併存妥当性の検証を目指し、CIOSならびに既存の尺度を用いてデータ収集を行った。開発中の尺度と併存妥当性のある尺度として選定した既存の尺度は、高齢者は、丸島の世代性関心尺度、SF-8、交流への満足度(VAS)、交流の自己評価(VAS)であり、子どもは中台の社会的スキル尺度、交流への満足度(VAS)、交流の自己評価(VAS)であった。対象者は、地域における世代間交流プログラムに参加する高齢者72名、子ども101名であった。高齢者版の地域世代間交流観察評価尺度(CIOS-Elders)は、因子分析の結果、18項目3因子構造が最も収束がよく、3因子はそれぞれ「子どもとの交流と育み」「課題への集中」「次世代に足跡を残す」と命名した。子ども版の地域世代間交流観察評価尺度(CIOS-Children)は、因子分析の結果、16項目3因子構造が最も収束がよく、3因子はそれぞれ「高齢者との交流と学び」「高齢者への敬い」「主体的な参加」と命名した。既存の尺度との相関を検証したところ、有意な相関はみられず、パワー不足が原因と考えられた。今後はデータ数を増やしさらに検証する必要がある。また、CIOSは、その場での交流における行動を測定するものであり、交流の満足や世代性関心など、ある程度醸成されるまでに時間を要するものや個人の特性に左右されるもの以外にも、その場の行動を測定する尺度も検討する必要があると考えられた。
