本研究は、被災時に有用な地域における助産師の連携システムを築き、そして市民参加型（本研究では：妊婦とその家族）の周産期看護情報システムを開発することである。被災時も妊婦が専門職の手で安全・安心な看護・助産ケアを受けられるようにすることが目的である。現在、専門職として看護協会や助産師会による、会員の繋がりはある。しかし、同じ地域で、勤務の有無に関わりなく助産師としての繋がりは希薄であり、個人的な繋がりによって成立している。しかし、被災時などは、地域の助産師が団結する必要がある。　本研究の特色は、看護協会や助産師会などの会員の有無・勤務の有無・年齢等に縛られない、同じ地域に在住・在勤をしているという条件のみでの助産師の連携システムの構築であり、被災地での専門職の主体的活動の効果を高めると考えている。また、災害は、いつ起こるか、わからない。そのため、看護職者も医療や看護・助産を受ける側も常に災害時を考えておくことが必要である。市民参加型の周産期看護情報システムは、広く日本では、病気になってから医療を受けるのではなく、予防という意識が高まったように、看護・助産を受ける側も災害への備えが常になるよう変革する一歩と考える。初年度である本年度は、地域における助産師の連携システムのあり方を検討するため、現在働いていない助産師5名と施設等で働いている助産師5 名の2回のグループインタビューを行った。この結果は、現在分析中であるが、連携へのニーズや方法を抽出する予定である。現在、働いていない助産師へ研究依頼した時、「長く臨床を離れてはいるが自分でも役に立てることがあればしたい」と協力をいただけた。勤務の有無に関わらず、多くの専門職が災害時には“自分のできることをしたい”という思いがうかがえ、システム開発の必要性が改めて示唆された。グループインタビュー調査に際し大学の倫理委員会で審査を受けた。
