项目摘要

本年度は、主に(1)博士論文の執筆、(2)投稿論文の改訂に重点を置いた。まず博士論文では、企業の環境配慮行動について社会・需要・供給という3つの側面から経済学的な実証分析を行った。社会面について、企業の良い(悪い)環境配慮行動に対する株式市場の反応をイベントスタディによる手法で分析を行なった。その結果、企業の良い(悪い)環境配慮行動は投資家にとって投資材料にはなるため、正(負)の効果があることが示された。次に供給面では、環境配慮行動によって環境経営は効率的になったかを、企業の環境会計を用いたパネルデータによる静学的・動学的な分析を行なった。分析結果より、短期的には環境保全コストのような投資は財務パフォーマンスに負の影響を与えるが、長期的には生産にかかる限界費用を削減する効果があると考えられることがわかった。最後に、需要面の分析では、NPO「ごみじゃぱん」が神戸市で実施したごみ減量を目的とする商品の購入を推進する「減装(へらそう)ショッピング」というキャンペーンを通じて、簡易包装商品に対する需要はどの程度あるのかを、POSデータによるパネル分析を行なった。結果より、長期間のキャンペーンで発信する情報量を適切に操作することによって、簡易包装商品(推奨理由:詰め替え)の購入量を持続的に増加させることができることが示された。全体を通じて、環境パフォーマンスから財務パフォーマンスへの影響は、評価をする対象が誰であるかによって、影響の符号や大きさが異なるが、関係としては概ね正の相関が見られることが示された。次に、投稿論文については、Ecological Economicsに投稿していた『Reexamination of Stock Price Reaction to Environmental Performance:AGARCH Application』およびWaste Managementに投稿していた『An Event Study on the Concealment of the Blending Ratio of Waste Paper』が、改訂の末、掲載されることが決定した。
