SHPS-1 and CD47 are transmembrane proteins and they constitute a cell-cell communication system by interacting their ectodomains. In this research project, we have shown that CD47-SHPS-1 system participates in regulation of brain stress response and depression-like behavior as well as induction of IL-17-producing helper T cells and autoimmune diseases. In addition, it also plays an important role in regulation of insulin secretion from pancreatic βcells.
