熱防御システムに使用される耐熱材料の表面触媒性について,発光分光法により触媒性を定量化するプラズマ発生装置を開発した.また実験装置内部の耐熱材料周囲の希薄プラズマ流を解析するために,モンテカルロ直接法に基づく数値解析コードを開発し,不均一系触媒性理論に基づく表面反応モデルを導入した.発光分光法(実験)と希薄プラズマ解析(数値解析)との融合により,材料表面触媒性を定量化する手法を開発した.
