High-throughput screening for the mitochondrial enzyme that acetylates SOD

超氧化物歧化酶（SOD）是机体氧化应激反应的重要组成部分。SOD似乎在赖氨酸残基处被乙酰化。研究了SOD乙酰化的功能意义和分子机制。我发现两个代谢基因对裂殖酵母中SOD的乙酰化起重要作用。乙酰化的减少使SOD的活性略高，但定义的乙酰化残基的突变并不影响活性。

The mitochondrially-localized superoxide dismutase (SOD) is vital for oxidative stress response. SOD seem to be acetylated at lysine residues. I have studied functional significance and molecular mechanism of the SOD acetylation. I found that two metabolic genes were important for the acetylation of SOD in fission yeast. Reduction in acetylation made SOD slightly more active, but the mutation of the defined acetylated residues did not affect the activity.
