Research on leadership formation and succession of multinational companies

这项研究考察了跨国公司领导层的形成和继任过程。在提出领导形成和继任的权变模型之后，本研究利用中国在华日资公司的经验数据对该模型进行了验证。研究结果表明，前任领导与新领导之间的交换关系与公司的内部信任关系和从前任领导拥有的社会关系中获得的外部社会支持呈正相关。然而，这种关系也取决于外国子公司的水平和公司战略。

This study examines the process of leadership formation and succession in multinational corporations. After proposing a contingency model of leadership formation and succession, the study substantiates the model with empirical data acquired from Japanese-invested companies in China. Results of the research indicate that the exchange relationship between previous leader and the new leader is positively related with the internal trust relationship of the company and the external social support acquired from the social relationships owned by the previous leader. However, such relationships are also dependent on the level of foreign subsidiaries and the corporation strategies.
