项目摘要

本研究課題は、「アダプテーション理論」をふまえて、広範なメディア(言語、映像、パフォーマンス等)やジャンル(文学、映画、アニメ等)を横断して作り直される物語を分析対象に、主流文化からサブカルチャーまでを射程に収めたインターフェイス的物語論の開発・提示を目標とし進められてきた。研究最終年度にあたる本年度は、アダプテーション理論、およびその実践的応用に関する文献収集にさらにつとめ、当該研究分野の最新の動向を探りつつ、新たなメディア横断的物語論の理論化と応用可能性について考察を深めた。具体的成果として、代表者・分担者4人による、リンダ・ハッチオン著『アダプテーションの理論』の日本語版の共同訳を脱稿し、2011年度はじめの出版をめざしている。以下、本年度の研究成果・状況について記す。片渕は、日本女子大学英文科講演会において、シンポジウム『ゴーレムの表象』に招待発表者として参加し、アダプテーション研究と物語更新の関連性に触れつつ、ユダヤ伝説の人造人間ゴーレムが、そのイメージと物語を更新しつついかに現代アメリカ小説およびアメリカン・コミックに表象されているかを検証した。また片渕は、本研究の最終成果の重要な一部分となる「物語更新論序説」についての序論的論文を発表した。鴨川は、ストーリーもジャンルも異なる物語同士がいかに同一性を担保しながら更新されていくかを精密に検証する研究発表をおこなった。小畑は拡張現実とメディアとポストヒューマン・ナラティヴの関係について考察し論文と口頭発表をおこなった。武田は、他の3名とともに前掲翻訳書の翻訳作業の完成に貢献し、さらに訳来全体のまとめや訳語の統一等に関して分担作業をおこなった。これらの研究をとおして、メディアを横断する新たな物語論の確立と提案をめざす必要性をあらためて確認した。
